What You Can Expect in an Ayurvedic Consultation

In an Ayurvedic consultation, the practitioner takes time to understand you as a whole person – not only your symptoms. They will listen carefully to your physical, mental, emotional, physiological and social situation, including:

  • Your digestion, sleep, energy, appetite, pain or discomfort

  • Your mood, stress levels, emotional patterns and quality of rest

  • Your daily routine, work style, family and social environment

  • Any previous diagnoses, reports and medications (if available)

Based on this, the practitioner analyses your tridoṣa (Vāta–Pitta–Kapha) balance and identifies patterns of imbalance to make an Ayurvedic diagnosis.

From there, you receive an individualised plan, which may include:
  • Dietary advice – what to favour, what to reduce, how and when to eat

  • Yoga postures suitable for your body type and current condition

  • Prāṇāyāma and breathing practices to calm the nervous system and support focus

  • Simple meditation or relaxation techniques for mental balance

  • Herbal remedies or classical formulations appropriate for your case

  • Small, practical home therapies (such as oil applications, steam inhalation, simple self-massage, etc.)

The goal is to create a realistic, step-by-step programme that supports body and mind together, improves your daily functioning and can be integrated into your normal life.
